TopSaunaReviews is the German buying guide for saunas, infrared cabins, sauna heaters and sauna accessories. The site belongs to the TopReviews network, a family of independent comparison and guide sites, and is devoted to a product category in which wrong purchases get really expensive: between a solid infrared cabin and a sauna house in the garden, the difference can quickly run to five figures.
Why this site exists
Anyone planning a sauna for home faces questions that hardly any comparison site answers seriously: is an infrared cabin enough, or does it have to be a Finnish sauna? What does a 230-volt connection really mean for heat-up time? Does a garden sauna need planning permission, and what does an hour of sauna cost in electricity? Most sites make do with interchangeable best-of lists and invented test scores.
We do it differently: we advise from the technology and from everyday use. Output, connection, heat-up time, wall thickness, wood quality and running costs decide whether you still love your sauna in five years. You will find exactly this depth in every buying guide on this site, explained clearly and put into honest perspective.
How we assess
Our recommendations are produced editorially: we evaluate manufacturer information, technical data sheets, standards and documented user experiences and put them into context with expertise. Where we give a rating, it is clearly labelled as an editorial rating. It is a reasoned assessment by the editorial team, not a laboratory measurement and not an average of invented user voices.
Three rules are non-negotiable here:
- No invented test results: We do not claim measured values that we cannot substantiate, and we state honestly when a figure comes from the manufacturer.
- No fantasy prices: We deliberately do not give up-to-the-minute prices, only rough price ranges for orientation. You can always check the current price directly in the linked shop.
- Honest advice before commission: If an expensive solution is unnecessary for your situation, we say so, even if we would earn from the sale. Our guide Infrared cabin or sauna? is the best example.
How our texts are created
We work with AI support, and we say so openly. We set the research of product data, the editorial line and the selection of recommendations ourselves, while an AI system handles the wording. The editorial team then checks every article: technical details against manufacturer and retailer data, recommendations for plausibility, safety notes for completeness. Only after this sign-off does a text go online.
With images we keep a clear separation: product photos come from the manufacturers and are never AI-generated, the video on the homepage is a real recording by a named filmmaker, and our own illustrations are AI-created and labelled directly in the image. Exactly what is produced how is disclosed in full under AI transparency.
How the site is funded
TopSaunaReviews is funded through labelled affiliate links, including from the Amazon Associates programme. If you buy through such a link, we receive a commission, and your price stays the same. Manufacturers cannot buy placements, and the level of commission has no influence on the selection or order of our recommendations. All purchase links are labelled with an ad notice and technically marked as advertising.
Who is behind it
The site is operated by Cakmak Digital, the operator of the TopReviews network with independent buying guides for watches, perfume, grills, whisky, knives, sneakers, coffee, vapes and watch accessories. Editorially responsible is Seydhan Cakmak. All network sites follow the same principle: compare honestly, explain clearly, give fair orientation. You can find an overview of all sites on the network page.
